Soirée 2015 Full STEAM Ahead
What does STEAM mean? Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math
In 2015, it is essential that all students preparing for their careers ahead be exposed to as many STEAM courses as possible. At Middleburg Academy we are enhancing our science, math and art departments by exposing all of our students to a STEAM curriculum.
It has been understood that to create, is to connect – and as we face the halfway point in the second decade of the 21st Century, Middleburg Academy is committed to building and fortifying those connections. As STEM initiatives focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math - we believe there is one essential element missing. The Middleburg Academy student will acquire certain scientific and mathematical competencies that are understood in a viable STEM approach, but they will do so with a certain dimension on the creativity in the Arts.
The history of mankind has been one where what is human and humane is often disjointed with emerging technologies. Do we shape technology, or does it shape us? Today we see education as whole and holistic. It is collaborative, shared, and truly inwardly digested because it is hands on, active and engaging. We hold with William Blake’s dictum that “energy is eternal delight” – and as Middleburg Academy builds its STEAM program it will do so with a resolve that to connect is to create, and to educate is to invigorate the mind, body and spirit.
Be a part of our exciting new chapter in Middleburg Academy's history that is embracing a full STEAM curriculum for our students. Please support this initiative with a generous donation that will directly benefit all of our students. Thank you in advance for your support!
