Maurice Rapp / History teacher
Maurice Rapp grew up in Bangor, Pennsylvania, a small town near the Delaware River. He received Bachelor’s Degrees in History and Political Science at Elizabethtown College (PA) and his Master’s Degree in Political Science at Villanova University (PA). Before joining the faculty at Middleburg, he was teaching Government and Political Science courses at community colleges in Pennsylvania and working on a Ph.D. in Political Science & International Relations at the University of Delaware. He plans to continue working on his Ph.D. on a part-time basis while teaching at Middleburg.
Maurice chose teaching as his profession because of his passion for the subject matter and to have a positive impact on young adults. He hopes that his teaching of history, politics, and government will inspire his students to become more informed and understanding participants in a greater world. At Middleburg, he will be teaching US History, European History, Middle East Politics, AP Government and Politics, and independent studies in Political Science & Comparative Politics.
Maurice resides in Middleburg and enjoys golfing, baseball, basketball, hiking, and traveling. He will also be coaching Middleburg’s golf team.
