Goose Creek Challenge and Tree Planting in Middleburg

Middleburg Academy students Kevin Huang and Arthur Liu, along with Mr. Hennigar, participated in the annual Goose Creek Challenge on April 10th. This challenge is hosted by the Goose Creek association and provides an outlet for students to participate in preservation of the creek as a natural resource. The objective was to plant trees along the bank line to create a natural barrier to sediment, nutrients and pollutants for the creek as well as bolstering local species of tree such as Sycamores and Dogwoods. The event resulted in over 200 trees planted and hands on experience in water filtration and preservation.
