Varsity Swim Team Paricipates in Seaton Ice Breaker Invitational

The Middleburg Academy Swim Team participated in the Seaton Ice Breaker Invitational at Central Park Aquatic Center this past Friday, December 4th against 5 local independant schools: Seton, Randolph-Macon Academy, Highland, Trinity Christian, and Wakefield. The nine Academy swimmers competed in total of 12 events, and placed top ten in three. 

Leading the Dragons, swimmer Michael Howley brings home accolades in both of his individual events: 3rd overall in the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 6:30.05 and 7th overall in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 1:13.38. Also, swimmer Lauren Greminger, making her debut on the Middleburg Academy Swim team brings home 7th overall in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:30.65.

The Boys 200 Medley Relay also has a promising opening performance at the invitational, with a time of 2:24.91. Two of the relay members, Jan Juergens and Dominic Sampedro, competed in their first ever swim meet and added a great deal to the relay. Also newcomers Kevin Huang and Jennifer Peluso both competed in their first ever swim meet and did their school proud. The Dragons will compete next on Saturday, January 9th at St. Maria Goretti.
