Harrison Gates / Math & Computer Science
Harrison Gates enjoys the natural character of Middleburg with its wildlife. He grew up in rural northern New England graduating magna cum laude from the University of Vermont with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and minors in math, chemistry, and economics. Both active in Tau Beta Pi and American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Harrison studied fluid mechanics related to Chemical Engineering at the University of Maine where he was awarded the graduate award from Phi Kappa Phi and obtained his doctorate. Later, he furthered his graduate education at the University of Virginia, where he was a teaching assistant for multivariable calculus and served as a student liaison for ASME’s turbomachinery symposium.
Outside work, as an Eagle Scout, Harrison enjoys nature and the outdoors, from climbing icy mountains to cycling along rolling hills.
