head coach Joe philogene

Coach Joe “Coach Phil” Philogene has been working for the government over the past 6 years, with numerous deployments. Through the deployments, Coach Phil has been to over 15 countries over the past 3 years serving his country. This has given Coach Phil the opportunity to also see basketball from a different perspective. Coach Phil is married to Erin E. Philogene and they have a daughter Viera and son Eroe.

In 2005 while living in Montreal, Canada he was Head Coach at Felix-Leclerc where they won the provincial title in his first year coaching. While at Dawson College he played for Coach Andy Jack, where he was looked at to distribute and anchor the defense. Coach Phil has coached a battalion team during his time in the US Army, where they enjoyed great success. In doing so he has learned the art of getting a message across to different players in different ways. In 2015 Coach Phil and his wife moved to the DC area for work. The LBA family welcomed Coach Phil and his family to Loudoun County with open arms. This allowed Coach Phil’s U16 team to have a very successful 2016 campaign.

Coach Phil likes to make a point to connect with every student on the team and their parents paying attention to their emotional, physical and social wellbeing. Guiding these students as their leader is where Coach Phil would like to hang his hat.
