Dear New and Returning Parents:
On behalf of the Executive Board of the Parents Association, I would like to extend a very warm welcome as we start our 2011-2012 school year.
Last year was an incredible beginning for Middleburg Academy, as treasured traditions and fresh ideas melded. We continue to build a strong sense of community, both within the school walls and off-campus.
A main function of the Parents Association is to facilitate communication between Middleburg Academy parents, students, faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees. We will be using several tools to keep information flowing, including a web-based volunteer tracker, and active Parent Class Representatives for each grade.
Speaking of volunteering, we will have many opportunities for parents to share their time, talents, and energy. Parental involvement is critical for our students to realize their full potential, and to best utilize the premier educational experience Middleburg Academy offers. Please contact any of the PA officers if you are interested in volunteering your time and remember to check the Edline calendar for our scheduled meetings, which are open to all.
Throughout the school year, we celebrate our students and staff with a variety of activities. These include school-wide cookouts, St. Nicholas Day surprises, and faculty appreciation days. On April 28th we will hold our 16th annual gala and auction, “The Night of the Dragon.” This, the school’s largest fundraiser, takes an incredible army of dedicated folks to ensure success. We will have many opportunities for all to help, in any way they are comfortable, to make the auction an unforgettable event.
To our new parents and students: welcome. And to our returning families: welcome back! I look forward to meeting you all, and am always open to advice and suggestions to help make this the best year yet!
