Click here to see our Student Art Gallery: "Seeing is Believing"
Students who study art at Middleburg Academy relish their experiences. Inspiration is all around, with 3,600 square feet of loft-like studio space overlooking a stunning panorama of the Virginia countryside; a bucolic campus to photograph, paint, or draw; and faculty ready to help spark imaginations and refine techniques. Visit our buildings and you will find student works of art proudly displayed in all places, in the same way they enliven this website.
Our students regularly participate in community exhibitions and win top prizes in regional competitions. An impressive number of our graduates have gone on to study at such preeminent institutions as the Royal Academy of Art (London), the Corcoran College of Art and Design, the Parsons School for Design, the Savannah College of Art and Design, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Others, introduced through Architectural Design and Drawing classes to the unique skills and exacting techniques of this profession, are now studying architecture at Cornell, The University of Virginia, University of Colorado, and Virginia Tech. And many are now professionals in the areas of Industrial Design, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Space Planning.
Visual Arts courses include: Architectural Design and Drawing 1 & 2; Art 1 & 2; Ceramics; College Art (Dual Enrollment); Drawing and Painting 1 & 2; Photography (film and digital); Visual Communications. See 2011-2012 Course Selection Guide for complete descriptions.
