TOP SCORER IN PHYSICS BOWL

Middleburg Academy Science teacher Dr. Ann Reimers reports that our nationally commended physics student, Robert Xu, has managed to place yet another impressive feather in his already full cap.

The high-achieving  junior, a Semifinalist in the 2012 U.S. Physics Team Competition which identifies the top twenty physics students in the country, recently earned the highest score for Region Five (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia) in the PHYSICSBOWL 2012 (Division 02: Second Year Physics Students).  More than 5,000 students from 250+ schools across the United States and Canada, as well as students in China and Italy, participated.  The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), which sponsors both events, will award Robert and other top student winners with two books about math and physics, as well as a Texas Instruments TI-30 XS MultiView Scientific Calculator.  AAPT is the premier national organization and authority on physics and physical science education.
